Overview

Ledgerline is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your financial data belongs to you, and we only access what's necessary to provide the Service.

Data We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up, we collect your email address and name through our authentication provider (Clerk). This is used to identify your account and communicate with you about the Service.

Financial Data

When you connect bank accounts via Plaid, we receive and store:

• Account names and last four digits of account numbers
• Transaction details (date, amount, description, merchant name)
• Account balances
• Category information provided by Plaid or assigned by our categorization system

Payment Information

Subscription payments are processed by Clerk (using Stripe for payment processing). We do not store your credit card number. Clerk and Stripe retain payment information according to their respective privacy policies.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Display your transactions and financial summaries
• Categorize transactions automatically
• Generate monthly reports
• Download this month as a local .xlsx or .csv file
• Process your subscription payments

Data Sharing

We share data only with:

• Plaid — to connect to your bank accounts and retrieve transaction data
• Clerk — for authentication and subscription management (Clerk uses Stripe for payment processing)
• Convex — our database provider, which stores your encrypted data

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your financial data for advertising.

Data Security

Your financial data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Plaid access tokens (which allow us to retrieve your bank data) are stored securely and are only accessible by our server-side functions.

Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, you may request deletion of all your data by contacting us.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access all data we store about you
• Disconnect bank accounts at any time
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your transaction data

• Clerk Privacy Policy
• Stripe Privacy Policy (used by Clerk for payments)
